Brindiamo! to Osteria da Fiore in Venice from the Michelangelo Hotel in NY

Brindiamo! to Osteria da Fiore in Venice from the Michelangelo Hotel in NY

The Michelangelo Hotel NY  is the ONLY Italian hotel in New York City, that means that often the team of the Michelangelo, brings Italian experience right in the heart of Manhattan.

I had the pleasure to meet Chef Martin during the “Ultimate Culinary Experience by Osteria da Fiore” at the Michelangelo Hotel and we filmed a great episode of Brindiamo!

What I learned is that Chef Mara Martin is not just an extraordinary chef but she is also an extraordinary woman, her cuisine and her philosophy has delighted diners all over the world for decades. She is the owner and the executive chef of one of the finest restaurant in Venice called OSTERIA DA FIORE a one Michelin star restaurant serving traditional Venetian food.

I am sure that with her husband, Maurizio and her son Damiano by her side Mara can achieve any dreams in life.

When you think “Osteria Da Fiore,”  you think elegance, tradition, and innovation. Mara’s recipes are truly unique, inspired by her own creativity and talent and exceptional taste as well as the rich gastronomic tradition that the region of Veneto, in particular, Venezia has to offer.

I did not have the pleasure to visit OSTERIA DA FIORE in my last filming in Venice but in the past days I had a glim of the restaurant and by meeting, cooking and talking with the Martin’s family, I feel I did a little trip to Venice just by taking the red subway line and get off on 50th street in Manhattan.

Here a little description of the events.

On Wednesday we had two cooking demonstrations, in the morning Mara prepared: Mozzarella in Carrozza, Crostini di scampi al lardo e rosmarino, and the Pinza veneziana, in the afternoon she made Moeche fritte, Polpette di Tonno e di Carne, Galani, and Bussolai, between the cooking demonstration we had a delicious lunch.

The following day we filmed in the kitchen of the Michelangelo few more recipes, the Baccalà Mantecato alla veneziana, the Bigoli in salsa, and the Pinza alla Veneziana, we interviewed Mara from her suite room and Maurizio Bonivento from the charming lounge, Maurizio is the managing director at the Michelangelo Hotel a Venetian DOC and dear friend of Mara, Maurizio and Damiano Martin.

On Friday we had the big event with Media and Press, and chef Mara prepared the black risotto (made with cuttlefish ink) and a Tiramisù with a twist.

During the cooking demonstration, TV personality, biologist Jeff Corwin (Ocean Treks with Jeff Corwin) a dear friend of Mara, Damiano, and Maurizio was invited to talk about the Cuttlefish from the biologist point of view.

During the day I also had the pleasure to interview Tony Margiotta owner of GLADIATOR WINE and author of newest book HIDDEN GEMS OF ITALY, he also was pairing the wines with the delicious recipes that Mara prepared.

LA MARCA PROSECCO was served during our events and we toasted or should I say we “Brindiamo!” many times during the lunches and the cooking demonstrations.

Thank you also to our partner SMERALDINA WATER  to keep as hydrated with sparkling and natural water.

All the events were a great success, we gather together, fans and friends, chefs, restaurateurs and sommeliers, journalists and book writers, Instagramers, and bloggers, travel experts and tv personalities to celebrate Italy, Italian food, and Italian traditions.

Thank you to Chef Mara and her team to bring Venice in Manhattan and of course, thank you to the team of the Michelangelo to host this fantastic event right few steps from times square

STAY TUNE .. MORE TO COME
